Art from Objects Found

A new display of repurposed artwork is on exhibit for the month of February featuring the creations of Bob and Nan Rudd from the Town of New Glarus.

Bob creates sculptures in a steampunk style, using old industrial and agricultural parts found at salvage yards and flea markets. His metal sculptures are assembled without welding. The sculptures are abstract yet often take on a personality with the aid of imagination.

Nan creates mosaic art from old ceramic dishes. Plates are found at resale shops and flea markets, broken into small pieces, and assembled into mosaic designs. She often uses old furniture as a base for her art, giving new life to objects that were headed to landfills. The mosaics depict life on their farm in rural New Glarus.
