Summer Reading 2018: Libraries Rock!

Registration Now Open!

It's time to register for this year's Summer Library Program!   The program is open to children from birth through 12th grade.  Participation is always free to all area children, with no library card required.

An unlimited amount of reading logs may be submitted from June 11th through August 4th.  Reading logs may be picked up at the library or downloaded and printed from home.

  • Listeners (birth through kindergarten) are required to read 6 books per reading log.  (May be used in combination with 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten.)
  • Readers (entering grades 1-5) are required to read 2 hours per reading log.
  • Teens & Tweens (entering grades 6-12) are required to read 3 hours per reading log.

Reading material does not have to come from the library!  Books, magazines, newspapers, and digital books all count towards your reading goal, as does listening to audiobooks, listening to someone read aloud, or reading aloud to younger siblings.

Each reading log submitted counts as an entry in that week's t-shirt drawing, as well as a grand prize entry.  New this year:  participants may choose which grand prize they'd like to try for!  We will have a different giveaway each week for children who submit reading logs (one giveaway per child, per week), so be sure to visit the library frequently to collect them all.

This year's grand prizes are a deluxe set of Picasso Tiles, a deluxe Squishy Circuits kit, and a $100 Amazon gift card.
