June 1st marks the first day to sign up for this year's summer reading program! The program is open to children from birth through 12th grade.
We have a new format for this year's program. Instead of having to keep track of one reading log for all nine weeks, we are transitioning to unlimited reading log entries. Each reading log completed will count as both an entry in that week's t-shirt drawing, as well as a grand prize entry. This means that even children who are unable to complete nine weeks of reading still have a shot at the grand prize, and voracious readers may earn multiple entries!
As always, we have a full calendar of summer events planned, including maker events, concerts, preschool story times, and a big party to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Harry Potter. Please click on our calendar link for a full schedule of events. All summer events are free and open to the public, and you do not have to be signed up for the summer reading program in order to attend.
This year's prize schedule is listed below. For each week that your child turns in a reading log, he or she will earn one of our weekly prizes. Please note that these prizes are only available during the specified week.
- Week 1 (June 12-17): Book to Keep
- Week 2 (June 19-24): Madison Mallards ticket
- Week 3 (June 26-July 1): Dane County Fair pass
- Week 4 (July 3-8): Culver's coupon
